Hackathon: Open AI GPT3 Hackathon, Munich, 7th March 2021

😊 #Happiness = #Reality – #Expectation 🤓
That was a super fun learning weekend with great team mates & geeks during the OpenAI#GPT3#Hackathon.
To be honest, OpenAI’s new language model is fascinating good and has at the same time super flaws 😬 – here are some learning:
👉 GPT-3’s full version has a capacity of lunatic 175 billion parameters trained on 500 #billion tokens
👉 Training dataset includes pretty much the entire net, but also #code, opening up the potential application #scenarios
👉 Given such a hammer, the biggest challenge is to find an interesting real-world #challenge – „language model business designer“ 😉
👉 GPT3 exhibits a #bias on a serious toxic level – super flawed 😔

Our Siemens hackathon team #SLM3 asked the question:
How can we use GPT-3 to improve the #inclusiveness through #signlanguage? We`ve build an app that enables to translate English phrases into American Sign Language instructions and contextualizing it with OpenAI`s very own CLIP. Humbled to donate the winning price to the Deutscher Gehörlosen-Bund e.V.
